Biography: Wigen, born May 22, 1896, in River Falls, Wisconsin, graduated from River Falls Normal School in 1916. He obtained his bachelor degree and Ph. D. from the University of Minnesota. He married Evelyn Zellmer July 3, 1928, in South St. Paul. Minn. He taught in Mazeppa, Buffalo, and South St. Paul, Minn. before joining the Stout faculty in 1933. He retired from Stout in 1966. He was dean of Graduate Studies at that time. Wigen Hall, a residence hall on North Campus, was named in his honor. Wigen did extensive writing and consulting work in the field of industrial education. He held many posts in professional organizations, including chairman of the Minnesota Industrial Arts Association; vice president of the Wisconsin Vocational and Adult Education Association; co-chairman of the Wisconsin State Curriculum Committee; and president of the Wisconsin Idustrial Arts Association. Description: The collection consists largely of course materials. Also included is Wigen's MA thesis and two publications.
